What is mindfulness? 👀

Present centered attention, to be here and now

The definition that we quote, "The awareness that arise from paying attention on purpose in the present moment non-judgmentally". Kabbat-Zinn (2015)

who is Kabbat-zinn? John Kabbat-Zinn was a student of Zen Buddhist teachers, created a program based on stress reduction called Mindfulness based stress reduction (MBSR). for more details: Jon Kabat-Zinn - Wikipedia because we are here to talk about mindfulness👵

"Allowing event to unfold in their own time rather than always pushing, wishing, or working to make things happen according to our present desire"  

Definition is saying, "Allowing event to unfold in their own time" but we want it now how long we wait? 🤔🤔🤔 we definitely have to put some efforts but in which direction? 

  • I am going my workplace daily, 
  • prioritizing the things, 
  • trying to save time by trying every day to get up early, 
  • trying to go to office on time, 
  • not giving much time to my family, loved ones, 
  • not meeting my friends 
even though I miss them, but I know I am doing everything to give them the luxurious and comfortable life when I achieve that, everything will fall in its place. But when? how?

oh! I forgot; someone has told me by visiting that religious place daily my life changed so I also have to start visiting that place daily. but I don't have time😒 but I have too.... may be after coming from my workplace but that person visited every morning, its more effective, my purpose will not fulfill if I go to evening... then what to do?

there is one crystal ball grazer🔮🔮 i should meet him/her. I definitely get some remedy

we meet that person with lots of hope inside our heart, with so much curiosity as we have an appointment with God/ messenger of God


 

no yar, what am I thinking? I am an educated person I should not believe on these things it's really superstitious, but my parents visited once they told me that particular year will be the best year for my career, may be things start going well after that year, for time being I should focus on my work, I read that line, "hard work always pays off", "work is worship"

REALLY? AM I GOING TO WAIT THAT LONG?

this conversation is happening in background at subconscious level, at conscious level, we are performing our daily routine

NOT IN PRESENT AT ALL

This is just an example, you can call it one episode of a serial or drama highly scripted by our own perceptions, beliefs. and forming a self-concept about us and the world.

Now it's up to you how you want to spend the rest of your life  with this drama that is running back of your mind at subconscious level,  sometimes you aren't even aware for how long you have lost in your thoughts  worrying about future or  predicting your future on the basis of your past experiences  and always getting the same results or with a little bit variation  but you strive for best outcome , some extraordinary result ❤️ 

Now, let's again shift your focus  

What exactly mindfulness is?

Here and now. Simple... 

To be in present at every moment 

Without worrying about your future or reliving your past again and again in your head

For the world 🌎 it's over but for you it's not 

Why? Two reasons 

Awareness & Acceptance

The two main ingredients of mindfulness 

See, I am not telling you anything new, you are already aware about these things because it's all happening with you in your own inner world ✨️️ and you really want to get rid of those thoughts, feelings, anxiety, frustration because it's not your real self  

Your real self is made up of love 🥰, peace🌸 happiness 😊 joy 😃 


there are various methods and techniques discussed by authors, psychologists, so many online apps are also available to guide you, keep giving you instruction.

but one thing that you have to understand, those techniques, methods will work only when you know about yourself- " self-introspection" is required

KNOWING OTHERS IS AN INTELLIGENCE, BUT KNOWING YOURSELF IS A TRUE WISDOM ~ Lao Tzu

when you feel comfortable in your own company, when you know the person who is living inside this body is my first priority all other things are secondary.

To bring yourself at this stage, self-talk is required

know yourself... what you actually want?

 what makes you happy? 

bring that inner child at forefront 😀👼

Survival mechanism will never work, it will never free you from anxiety, frustration, never make your loved ones happy... because you are not happy......

talk to yourself, go on a date with yourself, sit with yourself, find out what makes you happy?

any hobby like dancing, singing, playing musical instrument, playing cricket, basketball, 

what's that one thing that makes you feel alive? that has the ability to bring that inner child at forefront👼💞

IT IS NOT ENOUGH TO DO YOUR BEST; YOU MUST KNOW WHAT TO DO THEN DO YOUR BEST ~ W. EDWARD DEMING
